The divestment campaign continues to gain support from clubs, professors and alumni.
This past week a number of different clubs have endorsed the divestment movement including Queen's Health Outreach, Queen’s Soul Food, and the Queen's Recreational Sailing.
But the very big news is that the The Arts & Science Undergraduate Society have endorsed divestment!!! If you want to read more about this huge step forward click here. We also receive the support of the French Department and the Dan School of Drama and Music!!

Today, there will be a screening of the film Human Flow by Ai Weiwei. This film demonstrates the countless lives and stories have been drastically altered by the need to migrate due to famine, climate change, and war. The film will be shown, and a facilitated audience reflection about forced migration and our local response will follow. This past week Queen’s chancellor Jim Leech and Smith School of Business prof Sean Cleary were featured in the Globe and Mail today. Their opinions and support are both hugely influential and they outlined some facts that make us optimistic in our fight for divestment. You can read the full article here.
This Friday from 12pm - 2pm, there is another strike being held outside City Hall in Kingston. Organized by Fridays for Future and 350 Kingston, this strike is centered around maintaining pressure on political leaders in Kingston to take substantial action against climate change. In addition to motivational speakers and live music there will also be free hot drinks and petitions to sign. If you are passionate about seeing a change in your community, then join us in front of City Hall this Friday!! Read more about the strike here.
